For two decades, South Carolina politicians have spent hundreds of millions in taxpayer-funded economic incentives to lure companies to the state. In the latest deal, the S.C. General Assembly wants to give millions to a real estate developer for a shopping mall. South Carolina Policy Council President Ashley Landess testified in front of a Senate Finance Subcommittee on February 2 that comprehensive business tax reform, not special interest deals, will restore prosperity to the PalmettoState.
